What is 12Cr1MoV Chemical Composition
Jan 06, 2026
12Cr1MoV is an alloy structural steel, with the unified numerical designation A31132, conforming to the GB/T3077-2015 standard. Its chemical composition is mainly composed of carbon (0.08%-0.15%), chromium (0.90%-1.20%), molybdenum (0.25%-0.35%), and vanadium (0.15%-0.30%), possessing a tensile strength >=490MPa and a Brinell hardness <=179HBS. This material requires air quenching at 970℃ and tempering at 750℃, exhibiting good structural stability at high temperatures.
12Cr1MoV maintains excellent thermal strength and oxidation resistance even at 580℃, making it suitable for manufacturing components such as superheaters, headers, and main steam ducts for high-pressure power plant boilers operating below 570℃.

High-Temperature Strength: Can operate continuously in high-temperature environments <=580℃.
Strong Oxidation Resistance: Suitable for high-temperature steam and gas environments.
Good Creep Resistance: Vanadium reinforcement strengthens grain boundaries, delaying grain boundary slip.
Good Weldability: Requires appropriate preheating and post-weld heat treatment (e.g., 200℃ preheating, 720℃ tempering).
• High-temperature heat exchangers and furnace tube systems in the petrochemical industry;
• Pressure vessel manufacturing, such as high-temperature reactors and heat exchanger shells;
• Main steam pipes and header pipes in power plants, etc.
